Permanent Makeup FAQs
What is permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattooing, is a specialized technique where safe, hypoallergenic pigments are applied into the dermal layer of the skin. This process enhances natural features such as eyebrows, eyelids, and lips, offering a long-lasting alternative to daily makeup application. Ideal for individuals seeking to save time, correct asymmetries, or enhance facial features, permanent makeup can range from subtle to bold, depending on personal preference. The results are designed to be waterproof, smudge-proof, and can last for several years, though periodic touch-ups are recommended to maintain optimal results.
What is Ombré Brows?
Ombré brows are a popular semi-permanent makeup technique that offers a gradient effect, creating a soft, shaded look that resembles the appearance of brow powder. Unlike traditional tattooing, this method uses a specialized machine to disperse extremely fine dots of pigment into the skin, which gradually build from light to darker tones towards the tail of the brow. This creates a subtle, airy front with a crisp, defined arch and tail. Perfect for those seeking fuller and more defined eyebrows without the harshness of solid tattooing, ombré brows are ideal for all skin types and offer a natural-looking enhancement.
What is Nano Brows (hair strokes)?
Nano brows, often referred to as hair-stroke brows, are a form of semi-permanent makeup that utilizes an ultra-fine needle to meticulously mimic the appearance of natural eyebrow hairs. This advanced technique involves depositing pigment into the skin with precision, creating fine, realistic strokes that blend seamlessly with your existing eyebrows. Ideal for those seeking a natural, understated enhancement, nano brows are particularly effective for filling sparse areas, defining shape, and improving the overall fullness of the eyebrows.
What is the difference between ombré brow and nano brow tattoo?
Ombré brow gives a more pronounced, makeup-like effect, while nano brow offers a more subtle, natural enhancement by imitating actual eyebrow hairs. The choice between these techniques depends on the desired outcome, skin type, and maintenance preferences. If you have further questions, consider booking a consultation with us.
How long does permanent makeup last?
Pigments used in cosmetic tattooing are not implanted as deeply into the skin as traditional tattoos, which leads to natural fading over time. The longevity of the pigment can also be affected by your skincare routine. For example, individuals who tan or use products containing AHA or glycolic acid may experience faster fading due to quicker skin resurfacing. Color retention will vary from person to person.
To keep your brows looking vibrant and fresh, touch-ups are recommended to maintain the desired look.

Is the permanent makeup application process painful?
Most clients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure. We use topical anesthetics to numb the area before and during the process to ensure your comfort.
How long is the healing process for permanent makeup?
The initial healing process generally takes about 7 to 14 days. Complete healing and color stabilization occur within 4 to 6 weeks.
Can I wear makeup after getting permanent makeup?
You should avoid applying makeup directly to the treated area for at least 14 days or until fully healed to prevent infections and ensure optimal pigment retention.
Will you touch up someone else’s Brow Tattoo work?
Our touch-up services are exclusively available to our existing clients. If your eyebrows were tattooed elsewhere, we recommend waiting until they have completely faded before seeking further treatment. Once the old tattoo has sufficiently faded, we offer Correction services to cover up or refresh your previous brow tattoo. To see if you qualify for Correction brows, please send us a photo and/or schedule a consultation with us.
Eyelash Services FAQs
What is the difference between classic and volume eyelash extensions?
Classic eyelash extensions involve applying a single extension to each natural lash for a natural look. Volume extensions use a fan of multiple thin lashes applied to a single natural lash, creating a fuller, more dramatic appearance.
How often do I need refills for my eyelash extensions?
To maintain the fullness of your lash extensions, refills are recommended every 2 to 4 weeks. This varies based on your natural lash growth cycle and how well you care for your extensions.
Can I wear mascara with eyelash extensions?
It's generally not recommended to wear mascara with lash extensions, especially waterproof mascara, as it can weaken the bond of the extensions and cause premature shedding. If you must use mascara, apply it only to the tips and choose a water-based formula.
How do I take care of my eyelash extensions?
Avoid getting your lashes wet for the first 24 hours. Use a gentle, oil-free cleanser around your eyes and avoid rubbing or pulling on your extensions. Brush your lashes daily with a clean spoolie brush and avoid using oil-based products near your eyes.
What is a lash lift, and how long does it last?
A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment that curls your natural lashes from the base, making them appear longer and fuller. Lash lifts can last 6 to 8 weeks, depending on your natural lash cycle and aftercare.
Is there any downtime after eyelash services?
There is no significant downtime required after eyelash services. However, it's important to follow specific aftercare instructions, such as keeping your lashes dry and avoiding eye makeup for a short period after the service.
