Permanent Makeup Post-Care Instructions
Congratulations on your new permanent makeup tattoo from Blossom Beauty! To ensure the best possible healing and retention of your permanent makeup, please follow these post-care instructions carefully. Remember, the care you provide during the healing process is crucial to the longevity and appearance of your tattoo.
First Week Care
- Avoid Touching: Keep your hands away from the treated area to prevent infection.
- Apply Ointment: Apply a thin layer of the aftercare ointment provided by your technician 2-3 times a day with a clean cotton swab. Do not over-moisturize.
- Keep Dry: Avoid getting the area wet during showers and when washing your face. Use a clean, dry cloth to protect the area if necessary.
- No Makeup: Do not apply makeup directly on the treated area for at least 14 days or until fully healed.
General Healing Period (Up to 2 Weeks)
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Keep the treated area out of direct sunlight. After healing, use SPF30+ to prolong the color.
- No Sweating: Avoid heavy exercise that causes sweating and steam from saunas or steam baths for at least 2 weeks.
- Skip Swimming: Stay out of pools, hot tubs, rivers, and oceans during the healing process.
- Avoid Skincare Products: Do not use facial cleansers, creams, or makeup on the treated area until it has fully healed.
- No Picking: As the area heals, it will scab or flake. Do not pick at the scabs as this can cause scarring or loss of pigment.
Long-Term Care
- Touch-Ups: Schedule any necessary touch-ups only after the area has fully healed. Annual touchups are typically scheduled 12-24 months post-procedure.
- Sun Protection: Continuous sun exposure can fade the pigment. Apply a high-SPF sunscreen daily, once healed.
- Gentle Skincare: Use gentle, non-exfoliating skincare products on the tattooed area to prolong the appearance of your makeup.
Note
- Healing times and results vary by individual and the area treated. It’s normal for the color to fade significantly during the first two weeks as the skin heals.
- If you experience any signs of infection, such as excessive redness, swelling, or pus, contact a healthcare provider immediately.
We hope you enjoy your new look! Should you have any questions or concerns regarding your post-care process, please don’t hesitate to contact Blossom Beauty. We’re here to ensure your permanent makeup journey is a success.
